Associate Pastor, Students and Families
Kris joined the staff of Walnut Street in 2006. Having served in student ministry for nearly ten years, he leads our student ministry and provides oversight for our ministries to families with children and youth. Along with Paul Gibson, Kris shares preaching duties for the early service. He also devotes time to leading and coordinating discipleship efforts. Kris earned a Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2008.
Associate Pastor, Missions
Paul is the newest addition to the Walnut Street Staff, joining in July of 2012. In addition to sharing preaching duties with Kris Billiter in the early service, Paul will oversee the missions efforts of Walnut Street Baptist Church. Through December 2012, he will also serve as the interim campus minister for the University of Louisville. Paul has a Master of Arts in Transformational Leadership from Bethel Seminary and served a three-year internship at Willow Creek Church in suburban Chicago.
Minister, Music and Worship
Hiram has been serving Walnut Street since May of 2003, but he has almost 30 years of experience in music ministry. His primary function at Walnut Street is the oversight, planning and execution of the various aspects related to the church’s music and worship life. Hiram has a Bachelor of Theology and Sacred Music from Equatorial Baptist Theological Seminary (Brazil), a Bachelor of Music Education from Ceara State University (Brazil), and a Master in Church Music from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Minister, Pastoral Care
Rusty began his role as pastor of Walnut Street in May of 2003. Previous to this position, he was the CEO of Kentucky Baptist Assemblies, Inc., now Crossings Ministries. Crossings Ministries owns and operates the camp and conference centers at Cedarmore in Shelby County, KY., and Jonathan Creek on Kentucky Lake. Prior to that, Rusty served as pastor of Cedar Creek Church in Louisville and First Baptist Church in Benton, KY. Rusty completed his Master of Divinity at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1992.
Minister, Pastoral Care
Gerald has been serving Walnut Street since August of 2006. He visits the sick in hospitals and nursing homes and also performs funerals and weddings as needed. Prior to joining the staff of Walnut Street, he pastored for 29 years. Gerald has a Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Rochell joined the Walnut Street staff in August of 2010. She seeks to provide an atmosphere for kids in which: the name of Christ can be glorified and they can learn more about Him; that they come to the point when they decide they understand the gospel, and want to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior; the end result being that they leave the ministry on the life long journey of becoming of disciple of Christ. Rochell has completed a Master of Divinity in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Minister, Older Adults
Vicki has been serving Walnut Street as the Minister to Older Adults since June of 2005. Prior to joining the Walnut Street family, she served for ten years in other churches. Vicki is a graduate of Campbellsville University and taught middle school in New Orleans and in Kentucky.
Director of Media Ministries
Jonathan joined the Walnut Street staff in August of 2009. He leads the media ministries to produce audio/visual materials, coordinates the technical aspects of worship services and the production of the live television broadcast, maintains the church website, and provides audio/visual support to many functions around the church. Before joining the staff of Walnut Street, Jonathan served five years with the Kentucky Baptist Convention Communications Department. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications (Electronic Media) from Campbellsville University in 2001.
Director, Christian Social Ministries
Marge joined the staff of Walnut Street in July of 2009. She loves helping people and listening to their stories and giving encouragement where she can. Marge oversees 133 hours of volunteer help weekly and also encourages others to volunteer to receive the blessings of helping others. CSM serves between 300-325 clients monthly for help with food, financial, personal care & household items.
Harold has been serving Walnut Street since April of 2000. He oversees the financial and administrative matters of the church. Prior to joining the Walnut Street staff, Harold retired from Ford Motor Co. after 30 years. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Indiana University (Bloomington).
Administrative Assistant to Pastor
Kathy has been serving Walnut Street January of 2001. She assists the pastor in scheduling appointments, ordering materials, and mailing letters.
Debbie has been serving Walnut Street since June of 2000. She brings 13 years of experience in similar positions to her job as Financial Assistant. Debbie maintains payroll records and issues pay checks, counts and posts contributions, and processes the payables. She also helps answer phones, order supplies, and other office duties as needed.
